Goths were a barbarian tribe who attacted Rome in the 200's A.D. Visigoths were a western, powerful Germanic tribe who sacked Rome in 410 A.D. They were part of the bigger tribe called the Goths. The Goths were from the eastern part of Germany. The Visigoths learned some culture from the Romans. Some of the Visigoths learned how to speak in Latin. Goths were most likely origanated in southern Scandinavia. The Visigoths became the most independent barbarian nation. The Visigoths started to conquer a lot of the land in Italy coming from the north. The Goths helped them, but they went from the east and made their way to the south.
